FUNCTION AT WAIPUKURAU.
HOSPITAL AND HOME OPENED 1 Per Press Association. WAIPUKURAU, Jan. 22.
Central Hawke’s Bay was visited yesterday by Sir Maui Pomaro, for the purpose of opening tho Ratlibone maternity hospital at Waipawa, also for tho laying of the foundation stone of tho nurse’s homo adjacent to tho Waipukurau hospital. The former has been erected at a cost of £BOOO, made up of £SOOO from the trustees of the late Mrs Lissio Rathbone’s estato and the Government subsidy to tho hospital board. The nurse’s home will cost £IO,OOO. Dr. Valintine was also in attendance.
