FORGED BANK NOTES.
REFUSAL JO ARREST BISHOP. BUDAPEST, Jan. 18. The Public Prosecutor asked tho examining magistrate to order the arrest of Bishop Zadravccs, ChaplainGeneral of tho Hungarian Army, in connection with tho bank note scandal, but tho magistrate refused. Tho authorities also declined to prosecute tho Bishop on tho ground that ho was not engaged in criminal transactions and had not attempted to ileo from justice.
Count Apponyi, in a speech at a social club, declared that tho supporters of Legitimism were organising not on political, but on social lines. The next step would bo tho institution of an organisation of Hungarian women under ‘tho presidency of the Countess Apponyi. Ho added that the wasps’ nost of forgors must be smoked out.—A. and N.Z. cable.
