PLAN FOR ORGANISATION. CONFERENCE IN AMERICA. OTTAWA, Dec. 29. A Winnipeg message states that Australia, Argentina, Canada, the United States, and possibly Great Britain, will bo represented at a conference of co-operative marketing associations, initiated by the Canadian wheat pools, to bo hold at St. Paul, Minnesota, on February 16, when it is intimated that a move will be made to organise the world-wide wheat market. The Canadian wheat pools havo made a thorough investigation of the marketing situation in the various countries, and the results of the study will be placed before the conference. — Reuter. PRICE ADVANCES IN CHICAGO. CHICAGO, Dec. 29. The price of wheat at Chicago is jumping as much as 7 cents a bushel. Wheat jirices on Tuesday established the highest record for the season, following Mr Hoover’s comment at Washington that if the United States sold wheat in exchange for British rubber, the price would be based on a ratio of cost of production, which would be 8 dollars a bushel.—A. and N.Z. cable. PRECAUTIONS IN BRITAIN. Important liew regulations with the object of safeguarding cattle in England from infection with foot-and-mouth disease from abroad have been issued by the Minister for Agriculture, says a London paper. Hay or straw from any source which has been used for packing purposes is prohibited from being brought, into contact with any animal in Groat Britain, or from being moved from any premises except for use as packing or for destruction.

No tree, bulb, or other horticultural product packed in hay or straw, whether imported or not, must be exposed for sale or stored on any premises being used for the sale of animals.

No meat cloths or other wrappings used for meat, whether imported or not, must be brought into contact with any home animal unless previously sterilised. No box or other receptacle used for the carriage of meat or meat products, except preserved meats, must be brought into contact with any homo animal.
