PENSIONS IN BRITAIN.
COMPULSORY CONTRIBUTORS. Received December 30, 9.45 a.m. LONDON, Dec. 29. Fifteen million employers and workers will become on January 3 compulsory contributors to tlie widows, orphans and old-ago pensions. The Act, emanated from the last Budget, involving 14 per cent, increase in the contribution to State insurance in order to enable tho payment of greater benefits.—Sydney Sun cable.
