SERIOUS CHARGE.
CURTIS BEFORE COURT,
Receive* i December 29, 9 a.m.' SYDNEY, Dec. 29. _ On tlie arrival of the Maunganui Curtis was remanded on a charge or feloniously wounding with intent to murder Mrs Timson. Bail was declined. —Press. Association.
William Henry Curtis, alias George H. Lacey, a musician, was arrested at Wellington a few days ago on board the Makura on the vessel’s arrival from Sydney. He was brought before the Magistrate’s Court and an extradition order was granted for liis return to Australia to answer a chargo of wounding, with intent to murder, Annio Louisa Timson, at Sydney, on November 30. Senior-detective Cameron told the cou,rt that at the detective office accused produced from amongst liis clothing a blood-stained shirt, which, ho said, ho was wearing at the time tho alleged crime, was committed. He also exhibited a bloodstained handkerchief, _ with which ho admitted having wiped liis hands.
