Per Press Association, WELLINGTON, Dec. 27. In connection with the Caledonian gathering at the Basin Reserve, some interesting athletic contests were witnessed. The principal were: 220yds provincial championship: D. Paris 1, C. Jenkins 2, H. Hay vice 3. Time, 22 l-ssecs. 100 yards: H. Wilkins 1, Fleming 2, Jenkins 3. Time, 10 3-ssecs. Three-mile cycle: J. Carswell 1, H. Scarfe 2, R. J. Clarke 3. Time, 7.4'J 3-5.
Fivc-nlilc cycle: C. Flett 1, P. N. Robinson 2, T. Oakley 3. A great race; won by inches. Time, 13.33. 440 yards’ flat: Lander 1, Fleming 2, Gully 3. Time, 51 4-ssecs. 880 yards: Perston 1, Sander 2, Payne 3. Time, 2.2 2-5. Donald Gillies’ Cup: Lander, 8 points; Fleming, 6; Hill, Wilkins and Perston 5.
