FUTURE OF WEMBLEY.
INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION. LONDON, Dec. 23. Though tho future of Wembley is still undecided, important tentative inquiries have been received from American sources, based on the idea of preserving the site and buildings for an Anglo-American, or even a more, comprehensive international exhibition in 1930, for which it is proposed to form a company comprised of guarantors of the Empire Exhibition, who will receive scrip to the amounts of their present liability. The company Mill then take over the grounds and buildings and sell for immediate payment space to American and other countries willing to participate. The scheme will necessitate the guarantors foregoing any reduction of their liabilities by the sale of AVemblcy. It is suggested that the Locarno treaty has created a favourable atmosphere for an International Exhibition and AVembley might afford an opportunity for joint enterprise by the United States of America and the United States of Europe.—A. and N.Z. cable.
