ARABS PUNISHED.
THREE PUBLICLY HANGED. METHODS IN - DAMASCUS.' Received November 10 8.50. a.m. DAMASCUS, Nov. 8. Three Arabs belonging to the band which attacked the Bagdad convoy last summer, killing the French captain and wounding others, were publicly hanged. Tho bodies were suspended for six hours and inspected by large crowds. A large poster containing particulars) of the crime was fastened to each body. —Reuter. DAMASCUS CITY QUIET. SITUATION STILL SERIOUS. DAMASCUS, Nov. 8. The town itself is quiet, but the situation is still serious. Organised bands around Damascus remain a menace. People in the Moslem quarter appear dazed and sullen. North qf Damascus French jurisdiction outside' the towns is practically nonexistent. French reinforcements are hourly expected, and this is having a reassuring effect.-—A. and N.Z. cable.
