An employee of the Thames Valley Power Board construction gang, LCurtis, was injured this morning by coming in contact with an 11,000 volt main, while working on the NgateaKaiherc circuit. Curtis was laying a new low-tension wire on the bottom of the arm of a pole; and, to alter his position, he climbed on to the arm and caught hold of the high tension wire. He was thrown from the pole on to the ground, a distance of twenty feet. It was apparent that the current went right through him as his right hand and a little too were badly burnt. Curtis was also suffering severly from shock and bruises. He was picked up and taken to a near-by hut, where ho awaited medical attention from Paeroa.
