SALE OF WORK.
CATHOLIC CHURCH FUNCTION. There were big attendances at the Catholic Church sale of work yesterday afternoon and evening and excellent business was done by the stallhalders. In. the evening great interest was taken in tho exhibition of fancy drill by the Convent pupils. Alisses Ruby and Claris Sap well, both of whom are pupils of Aliss AlcKcnzieForbes, were well applauded for a hornpipe and Irish jig and a graceful fancy dance. The tug-of-war contests provided interesting and close pulls. Tho results were as follow : —Fold Alotors heat Cafe de Paris Nd, 2; AVliy AVorry heat Cafe do Paris No. 1; High Tension beat Sterne Bros. (Shannon); Awapuni beat Humo Pipe Co. The drawings for to-night are as follow:-—AYhy AVorry v. High Tension, Ford Alotors v. Awapuni, Sterne Bros, v. Cafe No. 1, Hume Pipe Co. v. Cafe No. 2.
