WOMEN’S NOTES

Mrs Dukeson, a sister of Mrs C. E. Shaw, of Levin, passed away in a private hospital at Palmerston North this week. The deceased lady was a resident of Huntervillo and had only been ill a littlo while.

' The death took place in Christchurch on Tuesday evening of ' Mrs George Richardson, well known to many people in different parts of New Zealand, Mrs Richardson was a daughter of the late Judge Brabant, and was a noted croquet player, having carried off many championships.

The marriage took place recently of Miss Winifred Miles, daughter of Mr and Mrs A. H. Miles, Hobson street, Wellington, to Mr Eric Riddiford. Among the relatives present at the ceremony were : Mr and Mrs A. H. Miles, the former giving his daughter away; Mrs Handyside, Mrs Steel; Mrs Vivian lliddiford, Mrs Gage-Williams. Mr and Mrs Eric Riddiford left the same day for a long tour abroad.
