Formers for miles round about Palmerston North have come to regard the Central Auctioneering Co. as the best pig market in the district. House clearing sales are conducted in every part of the town and country, and vendors have oiir word for it that when selling their interests are paramount. Regular mart safes are conducted at the mart every week; also private sales of stock. Monthly horse sales are held at Ashhic.st; also private sales of slock. The Central Auctioneering Coy. is a live firm which is always out to get lest possible prices for all vendors who place their faith in it. ZENITH MOTOR CYCLE MODELS. FINE EXHIBIT AT SHOW. It is some time since such an exhibit of motor cycles was on our Showgrounds, and in consequence the above display is attracting more than usual attention. Four cycles are on Iho stand, the first stand iiisido the motor hall from the refreshment mum, a-.u ii fact of significance is that already two of the machines :<i‘e sold. Model ■‘l9,” fitted with a 1141 c.c. o.h.v. single port J.A.P. engine is a fine job indeed. Then there are the '“Sixat,” fitted with a (ISO c.c. twincylinder J.A.P. engine; the “Super Eight,” with beautiful aluminium plated sidecar, and the “Special Express,” fitted with 8.45 h.p. 0.1i.v 4cam J.A.P. racing engine. The exhibit is by Messrs Boyd Motors, of Hustings, who are the sole New Zealand distributors.

DEVINE’S EMPIRE HALL, Palmerston North.

The Empire Hall situated in Princess street, Palmerston North, and owned by Mr William Devine, has been so completely improved of recent times that it now is the best and most suitable building in Palmerston North for travelling companies, lecturers, balls, parties, etc. The caretaker, Mr Gardner, is an experienced and thoroughly reliable man in that position, und intending patrons can, ootain alt information as .to available dates, etc., on application by letter to him, care ot the nail. It is interesting to note the splendid supper-loom and sitting-out arrangements when required for balls. It is electrically lit throughout, and it is questionable; if there is a more up-to-date hall in tiny part of the Dominion. THE SHOW BOOTHS. Splendidly Conducted by Mr Luoni. Mr G. Luoni, proprietor of the new Royal Hotel in Itangitikei street, Palmerston North, is in sole charge of the licensed booths at the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association’s Show now in progress at Palmerston North, and there is no argument about it, the booths are not only well conducted, but what is more the public are getting a square deal. The genuine high-class quality of all wines, spirits and ales is an irriporlaht factor with every public function, and most assuredly the people arc being well served at the show booths. Mr Luoni’s personal guarantee was given the committee that all liquors would bo absolutely true to label und sold at regular town prices. Just how the public appreciate the exemplary manner of Mr Luorii’s staff and the good quality of all liquors, as well as the hygienic methods of placing it before patrons, can bo well judged Irom complimentary remarks being made by all and sundry.

THE HAYWOOD VULCANISING WORKS. Rangitikci Street, Palmerston North. It would bo difficult to suggest a business in Palmerston North or elsewhere that had made the saane rapid strides since its inception an the Haywood Vulcanising Works. Of course, in tho lirst place, the owners of it know their work from A to Z, and the motoring public can always rely on the best of service, together with a punctuality that counts in every walk of life. .Messrs Palmer and M'Nab, the principals of the firm, are always at their post, and supervise every detail of the business.
