WORKERS’ COMPENSATION.
AUSTRALIAN PROPOSALS. SCHEDULE OF PAYMENTS. Received November 6, 8.45 a.m. SYDNEY, Nov. 6. The Amended Workers’ Compensation Act, which Ims been read the first time in the Assembly,' provides for £675 to he paid for losing an arm, £6OO for a leg, £525' for a foot, £375 for an eye, and £075 if the other is also seriously damaged, £6OO for the loss of hearing, £225 for losing a thumb, £l5O for a forefinger, and £ll2 for other fingers, £OO for a toe, and £75 for a joint of a toe. Where death results from injury the dependants are to receive a sum ranging from £4OO, but not exceeding £Boo.—Press Association.
