Mr Umbert Bidone, Consul-General for the. Argentine, is attending the Alanawatu A. and P. Association’s Show. His Honour, Mr Justice Ostler, will preside at the Supreme Court sessions commencing at Palmerston North this month. _ Air AV. M. Singleton, director of the dairy division, Department of Agriculture, is in Palmerston North for the Alanawatu and AVest Coast Show. Air F. H. Bake well, formerly senior inspector of schools in tho Wellington Education district, returned yesterday morning from a four weeks’ tour to the Fiji islands. Air W. Meldrum, S.AL, of Greymouth, who has been incapacitated through injuries received in a motor accident in Canterbury, followed by a severe attack of pleurisy, has sufficiently recovered to attend to his official duties. Air Geo. Aleadows, of Christchurch, well known to tho printing trade throughout New Zealand, died recently at Christchurch, aged 84. The la to Air Aleadows is survived by six daughters, including Aliss Aleadows and Airs Jeffs, of Feilding. Advice has been received by Airs A. Saunders, Fitzhcrbert West, of the death of her father. Air William Wallace, of Hawera. The late Air Wallace was a veteran of the Alaori Wars and for many years, prior to his demise, was engaged in farming at Alere Atere. Death occurred at the age of 80 years.
