BAINES SE
LADIES’ ANNUAL DANCE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) On Friday last, quite a successful evening was held b.v way of Ihe ladies’ annual dance. Arrangements were well in hand and the result was most gratifying. Mr T. Grammar, junr., and .Miss A. Grammar opened the evening in an old English style, lending a pretty prelude to all the other dances. Vocal items were rendered at intervals and Miss R. Algar played extras. It was pleasing to see the evening patronised by many visitors from surrounding districts, all apparently enjoying themselves. Miss McKenzie and Mrs Lovelock rendered excellent music with the piano gnd violin respectively. The catering and arrangements were in the hands of Mesdames Grammar, Pearce, Waller, Millard, Legg, Coyne and Pollard, who left nothing to be desired. The pleasant evening was brought to a close about 2 a.m. by Mr Grammar, who ably officiated as M.C. for the occasion. Three rousing cheers were given for the musicians.
Mr A. Brooke-Taylor and Miss Brooke-Taylor are on a visit to Hastings. The Anglican Church service will be held on Sunday morning next.
