OLD MISTAKES.
MEMORIES BURIED. OTTAWA, June 28. “Americans and Britishers from all parts of the world have buried with their dead in the cemeteries of France the memories of old mistakes. In the hands of France, of the United States and of the British peoples primarily rest to-day the future peace and happiness of all countries.” Thus Field-Marshal Earl Haig, in a speech on Sunday, responded to the welcome of the Government of Canada and the City of Ottawa on his arrival here to preside over meetings of the British Empire Service League of War Veterans.
