TRAGIC OCCURRENCE.
TWO NEIGHBOURS PASS AWAY
Last evening, shortly before 6 o'clock. Air Frederick George Haynian, of 277 Church street, who had been seriously ill for some months, passed away, and relatives hurried into tlie residence of Air John Anderson which is situated next door for the purpose of using the telephone. Air Anderson, who had been suffering from heart trouble, on hearing the news, took a bad turn and also expired some four hours later. Naturally, the tragic occurrence has cast (-.uile a gloom over the neighbourhood, as both the deceased gentlemen were well known and highly respected residents of the town. Air Ilayman, who was aged 58 years, was born in Exeter, Devon. England, and had resided in New Zealand for some 19 years. Landing in Auckland, he resided in that city for some time, but later went to Wanganui. Of recent years be has resided in Palmerston North and was a member of the office staff of Messrs C. Af. Ross, Ltd. During the influenza epidemic the late Air Haynian was seriously ill and he never fully recovered from flic effects of his illness. In addition to his widow, and daughter (Aliss B. Haynian) there are two sisters —Misses A. and R. Hayrnan —and one brother —Air Joseph Haynian. iof Auckland —left to mourn their loss The late Air Anderson, who was 59 veers of age, was horn in Tetnuka and in iiis early manhood engaged in farming. He subsequently moved lo Gisborne, and -nine 16 years ago took up his residence at Longburn, where he was appointed manager of the local freezing works. From Longburn he came to Palmerston North in 1911 and up to the time of his death had been engaged in the cycle business. His demise came as a shock to Lis family, as he was at work yesterday and at the time of his seizure was sitting quietly in front of the fire. Besides his widow he leaves five sons, Alossrs J. D., F. W.. J. G. and C. Anderson, and one daughter, Airs Petersen, to mourn their loss.
