Concerning Mr H. N. Holmes, who arrived in Palmerston North to-dav on a brief visit, Mr C. M. Luke, of Wellington, remarked to a local resident: “He is the finest orator I have heard for verv many years past.” Mr Holmes will deliver a public lecture, “A shrinking world and its urgent challenge,” at the Municipal Hall this evening, to which the public are cordially invited. Holmes, recalls that he addressed a public meeting in Palmerston North about 15 years ago and was regarded as a verv good speaker then.
