Mr David Jones, who represented Eaiapoi in Parliament, and who subsequently was defeated, has announced tliat lie intends to stand for Ellesmere as the present member, Sir Heaton Rhodes, does not intend to seek re-elec-tion. Mr H. S. S. Kyle, who unsuccessfully contested the lliccarton seat, at the last election, again intends to go to the poll. Mr M. E. Lyons, agricultural editor of Christchurch Sun, is spoken of as Reform candidate for the Lyttelton seal against Mr McCombs'. The Sun says it is possible that Mr J. G.
