QUIET ELECTION
ENTHUSIASM DAMPENED. NEW SOUTH WALES CAMPAIGN. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received May 20, 8.50 a.m. SYDNEY, May 20. The political campaign has been considerably dampened by the continuous rain. Owing to the flood conditions many candidates are finding difficulty in conducting country campaigning. Little enthusiasm is apparent so far, tlie want of any question of outstanding importance or of burning interest keeping the temperature from rising. There has been the usual amount of “linen washing,” charges, denials, hnd coun-ter-charges regarding sectarianism and other evergreen side issues.—Press Association.
