DANGER TO MOTORISTS.
WARNING BY INSPECTOR.
Received May 19, 8.45 a.m. LONDON, May 19
The inspector of explosives warns motorists to electrically earth their cars by a metal chain when pouring petrol into the tank. He says that several fatal fires have been caused through friction, the petrol generating the static spark when the car is merely insulated against the ground by tyres.—Sydney Sun cable.
