NARROW ESCAPE.
ACCIDENT TO MOTOR CAR
Per Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, May 18. A sensational accident occurred at Clifton Hill, Sumner, yesterday, when a threeseater car, driven by Air J. Reid* refused to answer tho brake and burst through a fence and slid over the cliff. Just when the car was a few' yards oif a sheer drop of 200 feet Mr Reid grabbed the wheel and slewed it into some macrocarpa trees, where it stopped undamaged. Many people were on tho road below at the time.
