BURNED TO DEATH.
FATALITY AT HASTINGS. HASTINGS, May 18. William Speers, a single man, aged 45, holding a small area of land in the Toliloaim locality, was found burned to death in llis three-roomed cottage, which was completely destroyed by fire this morning. When the body was recovered from the flames the legs were burned off, and the head and trunk were unrecogni:able. A portion of his clothes was recovered. From documents found outside the house, it is thought to be a case of suicide.
