HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE.
At a meeting of the committee of tho Palmerston North Horticultural Society a financial report covering the recent show was presented by the secretary. The state- 1 mont showed that the receipts totalled £4O 14s 6d, being made up as voider: Doors, £lO Is; coke stall, £3 Ids; entry fees, £lO 13s 6d; donations, £6 as; third of members’ subscriptions, £lO. Expenditure entailed in connection with the show amounted to £35 16e 6d, the items being: Prize money, £l9 12s; schedules. £3 17s 6d ; cartage and labour, £3 ss; advertising, £2 10a; rent of stall, £5; hire of tables, £1 12s. It was reported that the membership strength now stood at over 150, and it was hoped that the number would be still further increased before the next show. Votea of thanks were extended to the judges and others who had rendered assistance. Mr J. Galland was appointed hon. secretary and Mr W. Chapman chairman of committee.
