The friends of Miss Walton will be pleased to hear that she has fully recovered from her recent illness.

PLUNKET SOCIETY.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Plunket Society was held yesterday, Mrs L. A. Abraham presiding. Others present were: Mesdames Sinclair, Bennett", Free, Garner, Ireland, Spencer, Whyte and Aitchison. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Coombs, Langley and Cook and Miss Duff.

The Plunket Nurse (Sister Ogden) reported that during the month 294 homes had been visited, while 558 adults and 462 babies had visited the office. Clothing had been received from Mrs Fisher. Feilding had been visited six times and 73 adults and 72 babies had attended the office. Twenty homes had been visited. Nine visits had been paid to Levin, where 33 homes had been visited.. There had been 75 adults and 84 infant visitors to the office. Foxton had been visited five times arid 17 homes attended. Visitors to the office had numbered 165, 75 being adults and 90 children.—The report was adopted. At the invitation of the Shannon Chamber of Commerce several members recently visited that town with the object of stimulating interest in the work and if possible forming a branch there. The members duly reported to the meeting, and it was decided to take further steps to further the movement in Shannon.

Accounts amounting to £27 83 were passed for payment.

TAI KOREA ANGLICAN CHURCH

PRESENTATION TO MISS ALGAR.

At the annual meeting of parishioners of the Anglican Church, Taikorea, which v.as hold at Mr A. Richmond’s residence on Wednesday evening, appreciation was expressed of Miss Ruby Algar’s services as organiet for the past two years. After formal business had been transacted, Miss Algar was made the recipient o f a very pretty manicure Eet. .Her father,. Mr S. E. Algar, responded on hl-r hel'rif, after which those present enjoyed Mrs Richmond’s hospitality for a couple of hours

WEDDING.

MACFARLANE-SMITII. A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Church, Palmerston North, on sth May, by the Rev. J. H. Bredin, when Queenie, second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Smith, Railway road, Kelvin Grove was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to James, second son of Mr and Mr 3 G. D. Macfarlane, Ngawapurua, Woodville. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a frock of pale pink brocaded marocain, trimmed with pearl ornaments. She also wore a pink’ silk tulle veil with orange blossom* and carried a beautiful bouquet in tone with her frock. Mrs A. C. Lovelock, Woodville, only sister of the bride, attended as matron of honour, wearing a mole figured velvet frock trimmed with touches of Oriental beaded ornaments and black hat with Oriental colourings to match her frock. Mr George Macfarlane, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held, only the members of the respective families being present. The happy couple left later by car on their honeymoon, the bride wearing a. navy blue ooat frook and smart black hat.
