Germain’s new book “The Truth About Kitchener,” quotes a letter written by Ludendorff stating tha; Lord Kitchener's death was neither the work of a German mine nor a torpedoer, but of a power which would not permit J/ord Kitchsner to reorganise the Russian Army because the destruction of Czarist Russia had been decided upon. Replying to this statement, Sir George Arthur, who was private secretary to Lord Kitchener from 1914 to 1916. to-ch.y said that there was no question about i;. The secret of Lord Kitchener’s visit vns betrayed by Russia to Germany who made special preparations. “We know the name of the officer who laid the mine. .V’hether the objfect was to stop Lord Kixhener rallying the Russian Army I cannot say.” —A. and N.Z. oable.
