WOMEN’S NOTES

A London cablegrom states that tho Princess Royal, the King’s eldest sister, had a severe gastric hemorrhage on Friday, followed by considerable shock and weakness. She had a restful night and regained some of her strength. A very old and highly respected resident of the Woodville district, in the person of Mrs Emma Maria Mount Parkerson, relict of the late jMr William Parkerson, passed away during the week-end. The deceased lady was 79 years of age and had resided in Woodville for over 20 years, making many friends there and in Palmerston North. The interment will take place at the Palmetaton North Cemetery to-morrow, following a service at Holy' Trinity Church, Woodville, R.S.A. DANCE. Despite the inclement weather the Soldiers’ Club was filled to capacity on Saturday evening, when tho usual fortnightly dance under tho auspices of tho R.S.A. was held.
