FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

Th quarterly meeting of the Orient Lodge, No. 42, 1.0.0. F., was held on Friday night when N'.G. Bro. P. Robbie presided over a good attendance of members. A challenge to a game of football was received from Lodge Ruatamaki (Te Rohunga, but as tho season had not yet opened locally, it was decided to hold tho matter in obeyaijce in the meantime. A challenge to a game of cards from the ladies’ iHnekoa Rebekah Lodge, was accepted, tho tourney to be contested on the first meeting night after Easter. Several members had thoir degrees conferred upon them, the D.D.G.M. Bro G. H. Thomson, as acting degree master, officiating.
