LONGBURN BEATS NORTHERN
A match between the Longburn and Northern Tennis Clubs was played on Saturday at the courts of the latter, the visiting team winning by 17 sets and 173 games to 7 sets and 153 games. The detailed scores were as follow, Longburn players being mentioned first in each instance: — Men’s singles: Yates beat Dalgetv, 9—5; Jewell beat Grant, 9—5- H. Mabey beat Brace, 9—B; 3. Mabey beat Barling, 9—7; L. Hills beat Williamson, 9—B; C. Hills lost to L. Stannard, 7—9. Ladies’ singles.—Miss Mitchell beat Miss G. Kirk, 7—2; Miss Mabey beat Mrs Patterson, 7—4; Mrs Fulford beat Mrs Andrews, 7—3; Miss Tanner lost to Miss Martin, 6—7; Miss Fabling lost to Miss Bennett, 6—7; Miss Birch lost to Miss B. Kirk, I—7.
