COLLEGE STREET SCHOOL.
COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the College Street School Committee was held last night, Mr E. V. West presiding. Others present were: Mrs Briden-Jones and Messrs T. Inglis, H. C. Le Grange, P. W. Barnard, D. G. Pearson and the headmaster (Mr W. A. Swinburn). The Wanganui Education Board wrote stating that, on the recommendation of the architect, the lighting and ventilation of a class-room would be improved at an estimated cost of £45 10s, as requested by the committee. The work would be put in hand as early as passible. On the recommendation of the headmaster, a vote of thanks was accorded Meedames Briden-Jones and Elliott for assistance rendered at the recent sports. It was decided to postpone the annual picnio indefinitely on account of the prevailing epidemic and advise the Bunnythorpe School and the Railway Department of the decision. A vote of thanks was accorded the caretaker for the excellent condition of the school. _• _ , Accounts amounting to £a4 lob bet were passed for payment.
