News has been received officially that tle American trans-Pacific flight in c mneetion with the visit of the Amer can fleet to Australia and New Zealand has been abandoned for official rsasons. It is stated by the secretary o : tho United States Navy that the f) Ight cannot be arranged with the fleet n anoeuvres at Honolulu because it v, oukl so disturb these movements as practically to destroy the object in Ii aiding them. The Navy Department, h nvever, is developing a plan by which ii is hoped to have a non-stop flight fi om San Francisco to Honolulu, and il this is satisfactory the matter of ext' ending the flight to Australia and I 1 ew Zealand may be taken up again, bit no flight can be made during the fleet's manoeuvres at Honolulu or its c :uise to these waters.
