CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 6. At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association it was decided that both the junior and intermediate championships, which were set down to commence in Christchurch on February 21, be postponed indefinitely, the majority of the centres who replied to the council's query in connection with the matter favouring this course. Mr Cutler, on behalf of the Canterbury centre, stated that the centre would probably put on scratch events over the same distances as the championships for those intermediate competitors who were over the age of 16 years, thus/ giving them an opportunity to create new records before becoming ineligible to compete in the division. The Eltham and Opunake clubs wore granted affiliation.
