FRENCH GOVERNMENT'S ACTION. PURCHASES OF WHEAT MAY BE MADE. Heceived February 7, 1.5 p.m. PARIS, Feb. 6. Speculation in the wheat market has caused the French Government to take action to prevent the price of bread increasing. •t' has decided upon introducing a bill making it obligatory on dealers to disclose their stocks, with the object of taking a census of the available supplies. If these are insufficient tor the national needs, the Government intends largely purchasing abroad, wherefor special credit will be asked.—Sydney Sun cable.
