CHARGE AGAINST CHINESE

MELBOURNE, Dec. 27. Wah Lee, a slimly-built Chinese cabinetmaker, of I'itzroy, came before the Fitzroy Police Court to-day charged with having inflicted grievous bodily harm on a woman. The police gave evidence that Florence Jones was in a critical state, her nose having iieen practically severed with a chopper.' '■•' Wah Lee, when asked if he had injured the woman, said: "Him drinking beer in hotel. Him try fight me. J. took him home." Wah Lee was remanded, bail being fixed at £SOO.
