CONDITION OF DOME.

SENSATIONAL REPORT.

Received Januarv 7, 11.5 a.m. "LONDON, Jan. 6. There has been an extraordinary development concerning St. Paul's Cathedral. The City of London Corporation, acting on the report of its surveyor, is expressing the opinion that the dome is likely to fall within a short period of years. The corporation has notified the Cathedral authorities that the structure is dangerously unsafe and must be adequately repaired. The surveyor eays that the dome's weight l(ias crushed the supporting pillars and should be pulled down and rebuilt. The, a commission's recommendation for a dressing; j of cement would bo insufficient.
