GOLF.
At the monthly meeting of the New Zealand Golf Council a letter was received from the Manawatu Golf Club, and supported by three other clubs, conveying a resolution of . their committee to the effect that it,’is advisable to revert to 18-hole matches in the amateur championship -. (except the final). This matter had already been discussed at the November meeting, and it was resolved that, after carclul consideration, the council considers the present method (36-hole matches throughout) is the fairest, and is averse to altering it until they receive a mandate from an annual meeting of delegates.
