BANK TRAGEDY.
DEATH OF THE TELLER. MELBOURNE,. Nov. 30. Mr Almeida, the victim of the robbery at the branch of tile Commercial Bank, at Hampton, succumbed to bis injuries. He saiil that before lie could prevent the men from robbing the bank one shot him in the stomach. lie added : —‘‘They shot me in cold blood. They did not give me a chance.” When In* fell they stuffed notes' into their pockets and decamped. Mr Almeida struggled to his feet, chased them, bailed them up at the revolver-point and compelled them to return. The doctors were amazed that lie was able to move when suffering from such a wound. They stale it tyas a sheer triumph of mind. Francis Perkins and James Davis were arrested and charged with tile murder und were remanded. —Press Association.
