MINE FLOODED.
NINE MEN IMPRISONED. LONDON, Nov. 27. The Daily Express reports that nine miners are imprisoned in a flooded mine near Swansea. A sudden inrush of water occurred in the Dunvnnt colliery late last night. It is believed to be due to the storm and heavy rains. Seventy men succeeded in escaping, many wading waist deep to the shaft. One miner was brought to the surface dead, and the nine remaining are known to bo in a most inaccessible part ot the working and their retreat cut elf. The survivors report that black damp is present. Falls from the roof followed the flood, and communication with the colliery is most difficult as the wires were blown down by the storm.—A. and N.Z. cable.
