POSTAL OFFICERS.

DISSATISFIED WITH SCHEDULES

Per. Press Association. WELLINGTON, July ‘Jo. Mr Combs, secretary of the Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association, commented to-day on the new schedules published jn last night's Gazette. He said there was no doubt that the rank and file of the association would he disappointed, and the disappointment was justified, especially in view of the representations that had been made by the association. The Postmaster-Gene-ral had beqn asked to establish a public inquiry, but this was refused. The only' conclusion was that the case made out by the association was so strong that the department did not consider it convenient to allow the association to present its case the public. The schedule and re-gradings had given substantial increases-to the „ higher graded officers.
