ENTERTAINMENTS.

PALACE. The remarkable screen version of A. S. M. Hutchinson's famous novel, “If Winter Comes,” will conclude a four nights engagement at the Palace Theatre to-night and with the last showing will have established what is believed to be a record attendance at the local house. Interest in the picture has been enhanced by the wide circulation of the book and the audiences have been agreeably surprised by the accuracy with which the motion picture adhered to the story. The performance of Percy Marmont as Mark Sabre, the lovable Hutchinson character around which the tale is woven, is a gem of lustrionism. Ann Forrest, as Nona, is delightful and the supporting cast is strong. IvOSY. “His Mystery Girl” is the main film on the new programme at the Kosy Theatre. The story is about a young man who is a “business bug” and not inclined to stop work for the “trivial pleasures of life. This results in his becoming the object of a lot of worried plans on the part- of his friends. They crave to reform him and make -him human. With the. motto, Be yourself,” they start something moving which moves a lot faster than they expected. There are many fights in tue story, but they are not meloi -dramatics, rough-and-tumble fights. , They have to be “faked” so that they can look funny. Herbert Rawlinson is the star, in a real good story. There is another interesting episode of “The Phantom Fortune” on the bill, together with a very pleasing “Baby Peggy comedy, “Miss Hollywood,” and “Iho international Nows.”
