CHESS CLUB
The weekly meeting of the Palmerston North Chess Club was held on Monday evening when' a number of games were enjoyed. In the junior series, Stewart beat ’lrembalh, but the gamo between C. Thorburn and 11. Christensen had to bo adjourned. One mutch was decided in the senior section, Richards beating G. H. Espiner. A committee consisting of Messrs 11. R. Thorburn, T. M. Morine, A. Whittaker, Richards and the secretary (Mr G. 11. Espiner) was set up to arrange, details, in connection with the visit of Boris Kostich, one of the world’s noted chess players, who is at present in New Zealand.
