KORERO AT DANNEVIRKE.
A party of Palmerston North Savage Club members journeyed to Dapnovirke last night to participate in a korero held in that town. Four of the visitors experienced a chapter of mishaps on the journey. The private car in which they were travelling developed engine trouble on the outward journey, and, in addition to several stoppages, further time was lost by a- wrong road being taken. The journey was, however, persisted with and Dannevirke was ultimately reached at 10.30 p.m. A second car was abandoned en route owing to engine trouble, tho occupants being conveyed to their destination by another car. However, the trials of the party were forgotten shortly after reaching Dannevirke when the local savages entertained their visitors right royally and a highly successful evening was enjoyed by all.
