ALLEGED THEFT.
TWO MOTOR CARS INVOLVED. ACCUSED REMANDED. A motor car, the property of Mr Stephen Johns, of Boulcolt street, Wellington, tvns removed tvom a parking stand in that city on Monday, afternoon. The theft was reported frotn Wellington to the Palmerston Noijth police the same evening and, as a result of investigations, the missing vehicle was identified yestorday afternoon in King street by Constable Compton and Ebbett. They shortly afterwards arrested a young man as he was boarding the car. A sequel to iho incident was that, at the Police Court to-day, before Mr J. Mowlem, J.P., Leonard Herbert Perry, the young man who was arrested yesterday, was charged that, on July 21, at Wellington, he did commit theft of a motor car, value £250, the property of Stephen Johns of Wellington. He was further charged that, on July 16, at Wellington he stole a motor car, value £l5O, the property of James Sexton. Senior-Sergeant O’Grady, who appeared for the police, applied for a remand to Wellington which was granted.
