RUHR CONDITIONS DISCUSSED. MR MACDONALD’S OPTIMISM. LONDON, July 21. A plenary meeting of the London Conference is expected to be held on Tuesday. .Meanwhile Air MacDonald and the leading delegates will discuss matters at 1C Downing street.
The Ruhr evacuation led to a sharp con Irovorsy between General Desticker (France) and General ttodloy. who urged a. simple reversion to pre-Ruhr conditions under the Rhineland convention. The military experts have not yet reached an agreement, but apparently the machinery provided in the event of German default is acceptable to the French Government and the big international financiers. Mr .MacDonald is convinced that Germany has no intention of defaulting, and that the question is therefore hypothetical and o! little practical importance. Therefore, Mr MacDonald considers lie can safely make concessions to Franco on the sanctions.— A. and N.Z. cable.

BERLIN. July 21. Germany is impressed by the speed and energy of the London Conference. News of tiio acceptance of the sanctions clause has fallen like a bomb and aroused violent ftdmination in ihe Nationalist press.— A. and N.Z. cable.
