In connection with the recent protest by the Nelson City Council against the method of appointment of the trustees of the Cawthron Estate, a letter from the AttorneyGeneral was received ut a meeting of tho council on Saturday stating that he was unable to agree with the views expressed by the council, and was of the opinion that it was desirable to provide for continuity of several of the trustees, apart from temporary tenure by official trustees.
