CANCER DISEASE.
CAUSE AND TREATMENT
NEW YORK, June 8.
According to a telegram from Philadelphia, the North American, in an article that was withheld from publication for fifteen months, "in the interests of science," says the cause of cancer has been discovered, and also its treatment, which, though still in the experimental stage, is producing remarkable results. The discoverer is Dr. T. J. Glover, a native of Toronto, who in the article says he has established scientifically that the disease is due to a micro-organism. He has isolated the germ and proved by a conclusive laboratory test, known as the Koch .evele, its part as a causative factor, Dr. Glover has conducted his research work in New York for four years. Dr. Glover is now making significant progress in perfecting his method of determining the presence of the micro-organism in the blood in order to detect the disease in the incipient stage, thus affording a. greater possibility of a cure.—A. and N.A. cable.
