REBATE ON RATES.
KAIRANGA COUNCIL'S VIEW
A proposal was made by Cr Moody at to-day's -meeting of the Kairanga County Council that a rebate of 3} per cent, be allowed rtaepayers paying general rates within 30 days of the serving of the rate demand notice. A short discussion followed but there was little support for the proposal the opinion being freely expressed that the council stood to lose money if the suggestion were acted upon. On.being put to the vote the motion was lost.
