JAPANESE TROUBLES.
APPEALING TO SPIRITS OF DEAD. Received January 30, 11.50 a.m. TOKIO, Jan. 29. The estimates show that the Government’s share in the restoration of Tokio, Yokohama and the other devastated towns will be nearly a billion yen. v., The Diet resumes to-morrow and the want of confidence motion will be taken on Thursday. The political parties are holding services in the various temples appealing to the spirits of the great dead to assist them in solving the complications of the threatened crisis.—Sydney Sun cable.
