SEQUEL TO COLLISION.
DAMAGES AWARDED. NELSON, Jan. 29. Arising out of an accident at Stoke last November, Adolphos Lewis, a miner, of the West Coast, claimed £SO damages from Hurry Coltman. Plaintiff, it was staled, was adjusting the screw of a motor-cycle at the sido of the road at 8 p.m., when defendant’s motor-car ran into him, and he received the injuries complained of. Defendant stated that at the time another car with dazzling headlights was approaching and he dimmed his own, but the other car did not, and lie was.so blinded by the glare that lie did not notice plaintiff until ho was within a foot or two of him. The magistrate (Mr Maunsell), in giving judgment for plaintiff for £39 7.s and costs £9 14s, considered that if plaintiff was, so blinded he should liavo pulled up until the car had passed. Security for costs of appeal was fixed at £lO 10s.
