DIXON CUP RECORDS.

The secretary of the Feikling Bowling Club (Mr John Bartholomew) has compiled some interesting notes on the records,of the Dixon Cup contests. The figures are up to February 10 of this year, since which date the books have not been available in Feikling. Up to that date, 190 games had been played for the trophy. Palmerston North Club played in 88 games, 'winning 53 and losing 35. Feilding played in 69 games, winning 52 and losing 17. Only 24 games have been played between Palmerston North Club and Feilding. Of these, Feilding won 18 and lost six, scoring 530 points, against Palmerston North 391.’

The most successful skips have been N. H. Nash (P.N.), won 21, lost 8; G. H. Saywell (Feilding), won 21, lost 9; F. Tasker (P.N.), won 20, lost 9; J. Bartholomew (Feilding), won 14, lost 2.

In 1916, Fruish’s Feilding rink put up the record score—so to' 8 against Rimmer’s Foxton rink. Roach, of Shannon, in the 1912-13 season, made the record lowest score,, 4 against Tasker’s 24.

In 1911, P. Thomson, T. J. Clapham, H. C. Stewart, J. Bartholomew (skip), Feilding, won 9 consecutive games—23s points for,' 133 against. In 1912-1913, H. Kissell, C. Fraser, A Pickering, F. Tasker (skip), Palmerston- North Club, won 7 consecutive games, scoring 185 points, against 104. In 1919, Walsh, Chatwin, Patterson, T. Hewatt (skip), Pahiatua Club, won 7 consecutive games, scoring 172 points, against 118. In 1920. H. Seifert, Welsh, J. A. Nash, N. H. Nash (skip), Palmerston North, won 7 consecutive games, scoring 171 points, against 113.

MANAWATU CLUB

There is keen competition for the Corbridgc- ferns, in which connection K. McDonald and Thornley (skip) liave been defeated by Andrews and Ross (skip). There are nine other challenges in hand and an interesting series of matches is promised. _ The first round of the rinks competition has been played, the winning skips being: Thomson, Spooner and Shand, Eckersley having a bye. In the first round of the pairs competition Broughton, McKenzie, Eckersley and W. Jones have won their games. Interest in the championship singles is well sustained, and this competition is now about half-way through. The club will be represented at the New Year tournament by two rinks, skipped by Thomson and Radford respectively. ' Challenges have been lodged for the Manson and Barr, Dixon, and Hum Gups.'
